Body Contouring - Microcannula Liposculpture

You can spend your whole life exercising and dieting but you may find that you have certain areas of stubborn fat pockets that you can’t seem to eliminate. Thankfully, the world of aesthetic medicine has brought to the foreground minimally invasive procedures that can help you achieve the look you desire. Depending on the results you want to achieve, there’s one procedure that stands high above the rest and that’s Microcannula Liposculpture: an in-clinic procedure performed with a 1mm diameter cannula through which the fat and fat cells are sucked outside your body.

Microcannula Liposculpture: extreme precision for extreme results

Where larger areas of fat are concerned, treatments such as Fat Freezing and Ultrashape  are generally not recommended as more effective results can be achieved from the more direct liposculpture procedure.

Come to our clinic and let our specialists advise you on the differences between these treatments. Our consultation process is obligation free and will help you to understand which process is most suitable for you.

When larger amounts of fat are to be removed, people should consider Microcannula Liposculpture.

This method removes a lot more fat than non-surgical procedures with a more even result than other surgical procedures. What distinguishes it from Fat Freezing and Ultrashape is the fact that Microcannula Liposculpture causes skin tightening and contraction, which is an especially welcomed effect in cases where the skin has lost some of its elasticity.

What can I expect regarding the procedure?

  • The procedure involves minimal downtime

It is done at our Clinic on a Friday or Saturday, followed by a checkup the following day. This means you can go back to work on Monday!

  • Most treatments are done within 1-2 hours

Since there is no general anaesthetic involved, it is not necessary to fast and you can eat as usual on the day of the procedure. However, because you will be administered a local anaesthetic (and sometimes a painkiller too), we do not advise you to drive on the same day.

  • No cuts, knives or elongated scars

Using only a local anaesthetic, the procedure involves no cuts, so you will not have stitches or elongated scars. Additionally, the health risks and downtime associated with having a general anaesthetic is not an issue.

  • No time required off-work

Although there will be some soreness and stiffness for a few days, most people do not require any time off work. This is a huge advantage and cost saving in itself.

The treatment is performed by Dr Michael Rich, who is considered one of Australia’s most experienced experts in this field and has been practicing  this specialised form of liposculpture for nearly 25 years.

Which body areas is it good for?

Microcannula Liposculpture is most commonly performed on:

  • The fat bulges in the neck under the chin and the jowl area of the lower cheeks.
  • The full abdomen usually including the areas right around the sides.
  • The lower back fat up to, and even above, the chest line and right down to the hips.
  • The upper legs, especially the fat of the upper outer thighs and buttocks and the lower and upper inner thighs and around the knees.
  • The upper arms, including the fat in the armpit.
  • Breast reduction in females and breast size reduction (gynaecomastia) in males.

Microcannula Liposculpture is the most effective form of permanent fat reduction and it offers a huge advantage as it also causes the skin to tighten and contract. Thus, it offers a permanent solution to optimum body contouring.

We prefer this treatment over standard Liposuction as the use of a microcannula allows for more precision and real “sculpting” of the body.

The procedure results in a much more even and smoother overall appearance and body contouring. It is applied closer to the underlying surface of the skin and  is able to penetrate much deeper, around all the contours of the muscles underneath.
